Review of King George’s - Accident & Emergency

The nurses in A&E and MRU were very nice and communicated well. Answered any questions that I had.

Suggested improvements
Obviously waiting time in A&E, the fact that I had to spend a whole night in A&E despite being told that I was going to moved to a ward. After being moved, the noise in the MRU ward after A&E was really loud. It was impossible to get any sleep which I needed. Also, I had a mentally unwell lady next to me who kept shouting and talking all night long. So it was an exhausting stay.

The Dr mr S Ahmed who is a clinical Dr told me to lay the sheet on the bed while he knows that I was in agony with my stomach!!!! I refuse to do it so he told me that he is a clinical Dr there I should be doing that. I couldn’t move properly with my pain in my tummy and bleeding through back passage and there the Dr demanded me to do all the jobs for him.!!!! I was confused and destroyed…

Suggested improvements
Please change all the Dr s who don’t understand the empathy and sympathy!!! They shouldn’t become a Dr if they are not caring for patient…!!! I myself pay tax and that tax money goes to nhs which I should get better treatment. Further more change the management department which one of the manager took the side of the Dr S Ahmed.. I still have the prescription of his name printed on..!!! I want justices. I want that Dr to be decipaline that he should take care of the patent with care..

Review of Phlebotomy
25th March 2024

Although fully booked for appointments today the staff (especially Jelena) were very accommodating in helping with my Mum. She was requested to have blood testing following an outpatient appointment but would struggle to come back to the clinic another day due to her health. Staff were empathetic to this.

Suggested improvements
Availability for some on the day appointments reserved for patients after outpatient appointments.

Review of KGH - Integrated Therapy Outpatients
24th March 2024

Nick my physiotherapist has been extremely thorough from the time I received my telephone consultation with him. I have had three face to face sessions with him so far and he has helped immensely with my treatment. Following a series of exercises, together with physical manipulation of my neck and back, I am feeling a great improvement . Nick is very approachable and he makes sure that he has attained as much information about my condition and takes the time to answer my questions without making me feel rushed. I have in previous years been to KGH and Queens for other forms of physio which have not helped in the slightest and were never hands on, merely handed over a fact sheet and exercises to get on with and always seen by junior physios. Nick is experienced, knowledgeable and I look forward to receiving treatment from him for a second referral for elbow tendonitis.

No, very impressed with level of service I have received. I am seen on time and if there is a slight delay, the waiting area is comfortable. I would like to praise also the three booking administrators ie Israt. Mishaba and Ajer who do an excellent job!. They answer the phone promptly and always return my voicemail messages with a call. They are patient and friendly and do their utmost to find me a suitable slot, checking cancellations and offering these to me if available. They certainly take the stress out of having to call a hospital. Thank you!

I was fitted with a cathater with no explanation as to how to sleep with it. Waited for 12 hours without any doctor advice. In the end threatened to go home when the doctor overheard & looked at my notes. Still no advice on cathater care or use. Apart from the cathater being fitted within half hour of coming to A&E rest of care was a disaster.

Suggested improvements
Using a general doctor in my case was not good enough. What was needed was a urologist who knew what he was doing. And asking the right questions. No one even asked me if I was on medication for an enlarged prostate.
